I just started working on my Human Interest story for GIG Magazine, a magazine published quarterly by gluten.net. The article will focus on my personal experiences with Celiac Disease, an auto-immune disorder.
I have chosen Celiac Disease Awareness as my platform for the Miss Pennsylvania International Pageant. Celiac Disease is the most common disease in the United State affecting 1 in 133 Americans. An enormous effort is needed to increase awareness of Celiac Disease since 97% of people with the disease are not even diagnosed!
I will keep you updated on my progress to spread awareness and knowledge of Celiac Disease.
